Country Living Expo

Today was the Country Living Expo(CLE) it seemed to go off without a hitch. Well there were a few things that didn't happen the way they should but I just rolled with them here is how my day went:

****************************************

4:30 am- Wake up and go take care of mackenzie, for some reason Kenzie decided that TODAY was the day that she HAD to get up early. So I missed out on a half hour of sleep.

5:30 am- Kenzie went back to bed and I flopped on the couch for a bit since I didn't have to be in town until 6:30

6 am- got up pulled on my goat shirt shoved "ronald"(my laptop) into the bag and grabbed gloves and hat got ready to go

6:15 am- left for town

6:30 am- arrived at the school to find 4 scary looking tour buses parked out front- turned out it was ski bus. oh and there were about 5 livestock advisors there. we started setting up and were done with that by about 7:45

8am- doors opened and people started arriving, I was in-charge of speaker check in meaning i gave the speakers their blue folder(stuffed with goodies), and showed them on the map where we were NOW and where they had to be(classroom) before handing them off to an FFA kid to walk them out to their room.

9:30am- Vicky arrived I checked her in and than we drove over to her classroom and got set up for her cheese class. Sometime between here and 10:30ish she gave me the BESTEST christmas present EVER- a gift certificate for pick of the litter from her goats. Have I mentioned how awesome she is?

10:40-12:10 pm- Vicky's cheese class- it was quite popular and there were about 40-50 people in there.

approx. 1pm- We went and ate our prime rib it was okay but I wasn't super hungry.

~1:30 pm- I went and dropped my laptop off in the check in area and wandered the vendors checking them out.

~2:15 pm- did one last run through of my presentation only found 1 small problem which i fixed.

2:50 pm- was at my classroom got quickly set up and started my class. this is when i started having a couple of issues.
  1. Ronald decided that this would be a good day to have my virus software go off in the MIDDLE of my presentation- mind you I had a GIANT projector screen- i just blew it off with a 'well like i said before my laptops been having issues lately'
  2. Ronald also decided that THIS was the time to 'forget' some of my presentation, I got about halfway through my presentation and suddenly stuff was 'missing' from my slides. that was great fun, thankfully I switched to 'edit' view and it showed up.
4:20 pm- my class was over so we headed back to the registration area and found that the water that i'd gotten donated had barely been used. So I grabbed my 2(paid for) cases, and caught a ride home from vicky.

K.I.S.S.

Tonights blog will be short and simple as tommorow is the BIG DAY for my WSU Livestock Masters foundation Country Living Expo, and Cattlemen's Winter school. I have to be @ the school AT 6:30 in the AM to help set up and what not. Ought to be fun considering I am NOT a morning person.

2 quick notes(i will cover these more later this weekend):

1) Kenzie has her speech therapy evaluation on January 31st at 1pm

2) I have an appointment with a dermatologist about my wierd skin spots on the 19th of Febuary at 3:20 Pm.

Okay off to sleep see ya'll tommorow

Oh, My, GOSH!

So I was going to start doing wordless wednesdays' today but i am just too excited to do that. So instead I will tell you the ROCK MY SOCKS OFF news i got at my WSU CLE/CWS meeting tonight. We originally(a little over 10 weeks ago) decided our 'high end' goal for attendance would be 300 people. Well last week we had exactly 89 registered on wednesday. Today we have 449 people who are already PRE-REGISTERED! Holy cow! I mean that is not including the 51 instructors that brings our total to 500 people, or an increease of 380 people in a WEEK, 7 days! WOW! So if you aren't signed up already get your butt on the ball and get your spot now its going to be a jampacked day!

january 5th

well today wasn't quite as boring(okay i admit it it was!) slept in this morning(which was nice) than got up and chilled with cranky pants kenzie(she hopefully just has a new tooth i'm going to wait and see how fussy she remains before i get freaked). Than I gave C the brochures for the WSU CLE/CWS on the 19th to take to goat club.

Than I ran to the doctors office to get my neck and stuff checked as it has been very stiff and sore since thursday evening. all they could find was that it is currently spasming and so they prescribed some muscle relaxants. I think i'll only take a half a dose after my last go round with those babies made me loopy for days.

I than came home watched the game. i must say i did get rather worried in that thar 4th quarter- where the FRELL did bad matt come from? hunh? couldn't he of just stayed home? really? please? I am sooo glad though that the Steelers got their patuckuses handed to them by the Jags' it was nice to see.

Than I slipped into the hot tub for a while(which really relaxed my back and neck but its now stiff again). I have been sitting here for the last hour and a half catching up on blogs(*waves* @ mommy bloggers) and the United Hollywood page to see what the latest is with the strike.

January 3rd

Okay I think I need to start typing these earlier in the day for publishing in the evening or else they will constantly be posted late as I stay up to watch leno's monolouge and some of his guests than check emails as I write.

Today started off uneventfully as I just had to make sure tami got off to the breeders so that she could be rebred(that is a whole post though). After she left I went out running some LA flyers out to various locales. I got into 2 feed stores and a vets office. I was supposed to visit another feed store and vets office but it didn't happen. I have a really good excuse though.

I got hit as I was crossing an intersection. I can't say much now other than that as far as I know I am okay, but just to be safe, I am going to get checked out tommorow by the doc. Hopefully I can get an appointment. My neck and head have been pounding since the shock and such wore off so I am hoping its just a stress headache and nothing more. I have to go to the body shop tommorow and get an estimate, and fax it back to my insurance company(right now it is a no fault claim).

well ta-ta for now!

January 2

Okay i know this wont hit until after midnight but its been a crazy day around here.

First off I had to once again sort(dig through and try to discern non existant tags) Kenz's clothes and pull out everything that was 18 months or smaller. When you have 4 full drawers and have just done laundry, clothes seem to abound. I got through the drawers and everything I had folded only to realize i had another whole BASKET of her clothes to sort. *sighs*

Secondly I FINALLY got my phone upgraded(i've only been bargaining for MONTHS) to an awesome Moto Krzer. Its red, and shiny, and I think I'd like to marry it- tommorow! Seriously this thing rocks! I am a total "Moto freak" meaning that every phone I have ever had has been a motorola. I love them! I ran over my last one TWICE and it didn't break(yes i ran it over with a car). This one has the music and I even splurged and got the 1 GB memory card so that I can load it up with music and pictures and movies. Kenzie was jazzed cause she recieved my old Motorola E850 that i loved.

Third today was capped off by a long, but entirely wonderful committee meeting(humans who speak ENGLISH! and SENTENCES!) for the LAF CLE/CWS on January 19th. If I haven't blogged about this before i have been much remiss in not mentioning it. What is the LAF CLE/CWS you ask? well it is quite smiply the Livestock Advisors Foundation Country Living Expo and Cattlemens' Winter School. We are having 50+ classes over an 8 hour period about everything from Cisternology and Cheesemaking, to Immunology and Vaccinations. It promises to be an eventful 8 hours. Sadly I will be missing a much desired class(immunology) because I will actually be stepping up to the plate and TEACHING! a class all about goats! I am excited and scared at the same time.
