The No-Ponytail Challenge Day 2
Just a quick post before Weekly Winners. For those of you who don't know I took SAHMmy up on the No-Ponytail Challenge.
Today was day two and even though I desperately wanted to put my hair up(especially when I walked into the bathroom and opened the drawer and there THEY sat beckoning me, calling to me). I triumphed and have not yet put it up! I have a feeling that Wednesday, and Thursday when I go to Seattle will be the worst days for the challenge.

A blog about my secret life
Now as many of my readers may or may not know, I am somewhat of a TV nut. I will watch anything that catches my eye(or at least DVR it in hopes of watching it later) and if I find an actor/actress that I particularly like I have the tendency to track down their whole body of work. I go through 'phases' of who I like, what I like and what I follow closely.
Recently I discovered another side to my persona, it is that of a Sci Fi Geek/Nerd. I'm quite proud of this side of myself as I have discovered it has made me much more comfortable in my own skin and allowed me to relax into relationships that I'd never of imagined before. This side of my persona has also led me to the discovery of some wonderful preformers that I may never of even found otherwise. I am constantly amazed by the depth and breadth of some of these people's skills.
Take David Hewlett for example- he is not only an amazing actor on Stargate Atlantis, but he has also written, directed, and starred in his own independent production- A Dog's Breakfast. Everything I have seen him in has amazed me. I am still tracking down pieces of his work(Cube, Nothing) but have been very impressed by everything I have thus far seen. He has done work in tv and movies both. I actually discovered this year that one of my favorite christmas movies that I have partook in for years he was in- On the 2nd Day of Christmas. I find that even when he is playing a 'bad guy' it is nearly impossible not to be blown away by his talent.
Another wonderful actor I have absolutely fallen head over heels for is Dylan Neal, I 'met' him years ago and never noticed him. I have just begun tracking down his work, but have been absolutely blown away by his preformance in Blood Ties. He recently guest starred in Stargate Atlantis, and I was so shocked(I try to avoid spoilers like the plague) that I think I got a wee bit of whiplash when I heard his voice. I could go on, and on about my crush on him but I'll spare you for the moment.
Also from Blood Ties I found Kyle Schmid who has also suddenly seemed to crop up in a lot of movies and shows that I watch. Maybe its just because I am more tuned to notice him now, I'm not sure the reason but I have come to be able to identify him even from behind. He has been in a lot of 'Kids' movies- The Pacifier, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, The Cheetah Girls, Sex and the Single Mom, the list goes on forever.
Though I must say that my absolute favorite 'new' actress is hands down Christina Cox. She is an actress that truely amazes me. I am as I have freely admitted a giant tomboy. Christina, is an actress who through her preformances can actually get little old me to show some emotion on the surface. I sat watching her latest movie Making Mr. Right, I found myself laughing, than smiling, even to the point of tears towards the end. I can't even begin to count how many times in watching her on Blood Ties her preformance elicited such a strong emotional pull that I actually found myself wiping away tears, be they from laughter, or just the belivability of the pain she portrayed. Even as I sit here typing this entry out just thinking about some of the stuff I have seen her in is making me smile.
So hats off to all of you wonderful actors, and actresses who go out in the limelight to portray our favorite charaters.

Okay I'm probably sure you are tired of me by now, sorry, just one more post for the day hopefully.

The No-Ponytail Challenge day 1
Today in Fussy's Fight the Frump, SAHMmy challenged us to give up ponytails for a WHOLE WEEK! Thats right 7 days of no pony tails, buns, scrunchies, jaw clips, or banna clips(ha!). Since for the last approximately 6.5 years I have sported nothing other than a ponytail, I willingly agreed, decided to take her up on the challenge.
So I took the hair down(see below pictures for proof), now I just have to figure out what to do with my unruly, just below shoulder length hair for 7 days. Any suggestions would be much appreciated especially for wednesday, and thursday as I have to drive down to seattle both days for various doctor's appointments(wednesday at children's and thursday @ the university).
(I apologize in advance for the quality they were all snapped with my camera phone as i couldn't find my digital camera)

Oh just in case you're wondering- I'd been outside feeding, and fixing the automatic waterer and its pouring buckets at the moment. I was soaked(even *WITH* the waterproof pants, jacket combot) so i grabbed the first dry shirt I could find!

Frump Fighting
So I will freely admit that I am a TOMBOY. Pure, and simple tomboy. I love playing in the dirt, working with my hands and mucking around in horrid looking ensembles. Fussy would kill me. Seriously. I break most every fashion rule out there BUT! on the bright side I hardly ever leave the property looking like that(only when its kidding season and i'm subsisting on caffine and no sleep then and only than is it even remotely approved).
One thing I hardly ever do is buy new shoes. I recently decided that I was tired of wearing my ratty old tennis shoes everywhere and would LOVE to purchase a pair of stylish yet simple ballet flats(as I am very gravitationally challenged). I kept browsing and browsing and trying on shoes, and couldn't find a single pair that I liked that also fit(heck i even had my feet measured apparently i've been buying the wrong size for a while). I was walking around in my newest pair of rejects when something on the bottom shelf caught my eye. I walked over for a closer look and pulled out a pair of GOREGOUS chocolate brown boots. They were pretty dressy for my 'usual' look- a pair of jeans and a t-shirt BUT they were also just dressy enough to wear with a nice skirt if need be(i do NOT do skirts). I decided on a whim that I should try them on just you know because I could. I had glanced at the price tag and decided they were 'out of my price range'(i hate spending a ton on shoes) but figured it wouldn't hurt to at least try them on.
So I slipped the goregous boots on and zipped them up, and lo and behold they zipped! I stood up and I swear I have never met a more perfect pair of boots than these. They fit like a dream, they make my legs look awesome(my butt too!) and they are casual enough I can wear them as an 'everyday' piece. So the salesgirl who'd been helping me came up to check on me and saw me with the boots and informed that they were on sale! for $12! I was so excited that I nearly cried. I purchased THE BOOTS on the spot and will be tossing my old boots in the near future.
