Just a quick update

I just wanted to let you all know that yes, I am still alive. I hope to be blogging more now that the 2009 CLE/CWS is over and done(yesterday).

As far as I know preliminary data suggests that overall everything went well. The pre-registration number was around 680 as of Wednesday so I’m sure that we had more then that but I haven’t heard a final count yet.

Overall I enjoyed teaching again this year though my advanced class was a bit difficult. I had one of those students who decided that everything I taught was wrong and that it was *their* job to inform the others of the error of my ways.

I was glancing at my searches and had a few rather interesting/funny/what the heck ones jump out at me from the last couple months.

  • uncensored cg gallery from mama club
  • weather in resloute
  • what is something slippery / something slippery
  • joe biden powerpoint
  • agoat the bomber part 1
  • what is a proverbial horse / proverbial horse

The oddest search term that led to my blog has GOT to be:

  • watersink uk so named as water sinks through ground walk

Hope that all of you are doing well, and I hope to be back with in a few days with some new photos that I’ve been playing with.

Just to give you a preview of what you’ll see:

Meetings, Schedules, and general crazy abounds

So as you may recall earlier this year I taught and helped to host the CLE/CWS for one of my volunteer organizations.

There are several branches of this organization, and one of the other branches does/did something similar the CLW that is traditionally held in October.

This year they didn't have enough time, energy or resources to put it on so it has been shifted into a YoCL for 2009.

I had heard that they were having a hard time getting people to help their committee so I said that as a Board Member I would step up and attend and assist them in anyway possible.

Last night was our 3rd meeting and it looks like it is going to be a great year for them and their program(aside from the budget cuts county wide).

Though being involved in both CLW AND CLE/CWS has become a bit challenging.

First of all there is the similarity of names(workshop vs. expo) and both have meetings semi-regularly.

This week was an interesting challenge in that both committee's had meetings the CLW last night and the CLE/CWS tomorrow night. I also still have class until Dec. 2nd and get to juggle that in as well.

Country Living Expo

Today was the Country Living Expo(CLE) it seemed to go off without a hitch. Well there were a few things that didn't happen the way they should but I just rolled with them here is how my day went:

****************************************

4:30 am- Wake up and go take care of mackenzie, for some reason Kenzie decided that TODAY was the day that she HAD to get up early. So I missed out on a half hour of sleep.

5:30 am- Kenzie went back to bed and I flopped on the couch for a bit since I didn't have to be in town until 6:30

6 am- got up pulled on my goat shirt shoved "ronald"(my laptop) into the bag and grabbed gloves and hat got ready to go

6:15 am- left for town

6:30 am- arrived at the school to find 4 scary looking tour buses parked out front- turned out it was ski bus. oh and there were about 5 livestock advisors there. we started setting up and were done with that by about 7:45

8am- doors opened and people started arriving, I was in-charge of speaker check in meaning i gave the speakers their blue folder(stuffed with goodies), and showed them on the map where we were NOW and where they had to be(classroom) before handing them off to an FFA kid to walk them out to their room.

9:30am- Vicky arrived I checked her in and than we drove over to her classroom and got set up for her cheese class. Sometime between here and 10:30ish she gave me the BESTEST christmas present EVER- a gift certificate for pick of the litter from her goats. Have I mentioned how awesome she is?

10:40-12:10 pm- Vicky's cheese class- it was quite popular and there were about 40-50 people in there.

approx. 1pm- We went and ate our prime rib it was okay but I wasn't super hungry.

~1:30 pm- I went and dropped my laptop off in the check in area and wandered the vendors checking them out.

~2:15 pm- did one last run through of my presentation only found 1 small problem which i fixed.

2:50 pm- was at my classroom got quickly set up and started my class. this is when i started having a couple of issues.
  1. Ronald decided that this would be a good day to have my virus software go off in the MIDDLE of my presentation- mind you I had a GIANT projector screen- i just blew it off with a 'well like i said before my laptops been having issues lately'
  2. Ronald also decided that THIS was the time to 'forget' some of my presentation, I got about halfway through my presentation and suddenly stuff was 'missing' from my slides. that was great fun, thankfully I switched to 'edit' view and it showed up.
4:20 pm- my class was over so we headed back to the registration area and found that the water that i'd gotten donated had barely been used. So I grabbed my 2(paid for) cases, and caught a ride home from vicky.

Oh, My, GOSH!

So I was going to start doing wordless wednesdays' today but i am just too excited to do that. So instead I will tell you the ROCK MY SOCKS OFF news i got at my WSU CLE/CWS meeting tonight. We originally(a little over 10 weeks ago) decided our 'high end' goal for attendance would be 300 people. Well last week we had exactly 89 registered on wednesday. Today we have 449 people who are already PRE-REGISTERED! Holy cow! I mean that is not including the 51 instructors that brings our total to 500 people, or an increease of 380 people in a WEEK, 7 days! WOW! So if you aren't signed up already get your butt on the ball and get your spot now its going to be a jampacked day!

january 4th

so today was another pretty boring day(as most of my days are lol) I stayed home this morning and we chilled and watched sesame street and the news(to catch the weather). Then miss kenz took her nap as Gma was supposed to come watch her so I could run to the body shop by myself to get the estimate. Well Gma didn't show up apparently she decided to spend extra time at the casino. SO I had to haul kenz with me to the body shop(which thankfully only took about 20 minutes on the long end) than we ran over to Cenex to see L and K from the livestock advisors.

Then Gma called and said she was at home so we ran up to her house planning on only spending about an hour before heading out to teen parents. Well we'd been there about a half hour when the phone rings and its the house calling to tell us that Park man, Cheese and Jerry were bringing back our van that we loaned them until their new car came in and the family was going out to dinner would we like to come? Since we only see Park man and family at easter, 4th of july, thanksgiving, and christmas for sure(we rarely see them in between even though its only an hours drive) I said that we'd join them for dinner. So we all went to dinner where the conversation focused on "DIC" or the Driver Information Center in both Park man and Gma's cars. Apparently DIC is a trouble maker. So Kenzie returned home with mema and pop pop and

I drove Gma home(since my car was still at her house) and than came home and discovered that mr. Evil DVR apparently decided that he didn't need to record the stargate atlantis marathon. I think I may chuck him out the window.
